Bucharest Pride takes place in a country still debating legal recognition for same-sex partnerships, which gives the annual march down Calea Victoriei, Romania's grandest boulevard, a weight that few Pride events in Europe can match. Organised by ACCEPT, the country's leading LGBTQ+ rights organisation, the event has grown from a few hundred defiant marchers in 2005 to tens of thousands today, making it Romania's largest annual civic demonstration.
Bucharest is ready to embrace you with open arms during Pride. Book your accommodations and secure your spot in this unforgettable celebration of love, pride, and diversity.

Bucharest is the most cosmopolitan and accepting city in Romania, with a visible queer community, several LGBTQ+-friendly bars and clubs, and an annual Pride that draws tens of thousands of participants. Public displays of affection may attract attention outside Pride week, but visitors generally find the city welcoming, particularly in the Old Town and Floreasca areas. As with any Eastern European capital, some caution is advisable, and local LGBTQ+ community advice is worth seeking before you go.
Bucharest Pride, formally known as Marșul Diversității (March of Diversity), is Romania's largest annual civic demonstration, organised by ACCEPT, the country's leading LGBTQ+ rights organisation. The week-long festival includes film screenings, art exhibitions, debates, parties, and a flagship parade. Attendance has grown significantly over the years, with recent editions drawing crowds of 25,000 to 30,000 people.
The Bucharest Pride parade follows Calea Victoriei, one of Bucharest's most iconic boulevards, typically starting near the Government building and proceeding toward Izvor Park, in the shadow of the Romanian Parliament. The route passes some of the city's most significant historical landmarks, which adds particular resonance to the march. Pride Park events take place at Izvor Park.
Staying in or near the Old Town (Centrul Vechi) puts you closest to the parade route, Pride Week venues, and the city's main LGBTQ+-friendly bars and clubs. The city doesn't have a designated gayborhood, but the Old Town and surrounding central districts are where the community is most concentrated, especially during Pride. Book early, accommodation fills quickly for Pride weekend.
Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) is 16km from the city centre and well served by budget airlines from across Europe, as well as major carriers. From the airport, express train service (CFR) connects to Gara de Nord station in around 24 minutes. Note that Romania uses the Romanian leu (RON), not the euro.
